The greatest thrill of my life was the day I found out I was pregnant. I have had some other amazing days, like my engagement and wedding day, but nothing compares to finding out that you have a new life growing inside you. It truly is the greatest miracle! There is nothing I have ever wanted more than to be a mama, so the day I found out I was pregnant was pure bliss!
This blissful feeling lasted most of my pregnancy, unless I started thinking about change. I knew our life would change for the better, so I wasn't really worried about that. The change I am talking about is how your body changes and never seems the same again. I definitely felt the mourning of losing myself... these body changes during pregnancy would affect the me I had known my whole adult life. I really don't think of myself as a vain person, but I have always been blessed with a flat stomach. Don't be jealous mamas...it's the result of a long torso and short legs.
Morning sickness didn't phase me, but when I couldn't zip my pants anymore some, anxiety set in. Will I ever wear these jeans again? Will I ever lie on the beach in a bikini again? Will my husband see me as sexy again? These thoughts can be so damaging in such a beautiful stage in a woman's life. Mixed with all the changing hormones and look out!
I decided to be proactive. I read up on how your body changes and how to prevent some of these changes, especially stretch marks. I bought some stretch mark cream, and I do believe it worked because although my belly grew and grew and grew...I didn't have any stretch marks! Side effect - the lotion was smelly. I remember going to a wax appointment when I was about 30 weeks pregnant and the esthetician asked me if I had on tanning lotion?! It was February.
So I was thrilled when Jenna from A Mama Collective asked if I wanted to review Earth Mama Angel Baby's Mama's Pregnancy Essentials Bundle. Of course I said yes! Even though I am not pregnant right now, I love the idea of getting a head start on testing products for future pregnancies.
From EMAB's website, their " all natural, herbal pregnancy products offer safe solutions and comfort through pregnancy nausea, morning sickness, heartburn, hemorrhoids, pregnancy anxiety, swollen feet, stretch marks and more."
This bundle includes: Happy Mama Hand to Toe Wash (5.3 fl. Oz.), Happy Mama Spray (4 fl. Oz.), Mama-To-Be Tea Sampler, Natural Stretch Oil (4 fl. Oz.), Earth Mama Body Butter (4 fl. Oz.), and Mint Herbal Lip Balm. All of these products are safe for pregnancy, with no toxins ever. And it comes in a cute 100% organic cotton tote!
When I was pregnant I used Palmer's Cocoa Butter and Vitamin E oil. While these products worked, they left me feeling greasy and feeling like I just coated myself with wax. I felt like I couldn't get dressed for 20 minutes or my clothes would be oily and waxy too.
Earth Mama Angel Baby, I love your products. You can feel how natural they are on your skin. Many of their products are not scented. The ones that are scented, are lightly scented, which means no heavy perfumes. I don't know about you ladies, but strong scents and pregnancy did not go over well with me.
The Happy Mama Hand to Toe Wash is simply divine! The ginger-grapefruit is such a light and gentle scent. I imagine my early pregnancy showers being a lot less queasy.
The Happy Mama Spray is an aromatherapy mist recommended for "morning queasies". Again, it is very lightly scented. I imagine myself using it to help mask any strong scents in my house.
The Earth Mama Lip Balm is just about the best chapstick I have ever used. It's herbal mint, which also helps upset stomach. My mouth would get so dry in the middle of the night and having lip balm by my bed always helped. This is by far the best I've used! My lips did not feel waxy, just smooth.
I also received the Mama-To-Be-Tea Sampler. It includes Ginger-minty Organic Morning Wellness Tea, soothing Organic Heartburn Tea, calming Organic Peaceful Mama Tea, and yummy Organic Third Trimester Tea.
To be honest, I am not much of a hot tea drinker. I gagged done the Mother's Milk teas. So I gave most of these to my "tea sampler" husband.
Jason was also not very fond of the Mother's Milk teas, but he really liked these!
To quote Jason, "It tastes like tea." So, if you like tea, you will like this!
I did make myself a tall glass of the Organic Third Trimester Tea over ice. It was pretty yummy :)
I loved getting the opportunity to try out these products! If you don't want the set, all of these products are available individually. I would definitely buy the Body Butter, Hand to Toe Wash and Lip Balm in the future. You can also find coupons on their website.
I think this would be a great gift for an expecting friend or better yet...for yourself! We mamas are great at thinking about others, but when you are pregnant it is so important to remember to take care of yourself.
