I know that I have been raving about Melyssa over at The Nectar Collective, but I really can't stop. If you haven't checked out her blog, you need to. Immediately.
She's amazing, right? She just redesigned her blog too, and it's oh so gorg. And she has some incredible blogging tips, one of which was in my post about my favorite blogging resources.
She has this awesome idea, called The Creative Collective (and as you [now] know, I'm obsessed with the word Collective, duh). The Creative Collective is the coolest idea ever. Here is Mel's explanation of it:
I’ve planned out 23 creative activities for 2014 — all you have to do is show up and get your groove on. In order to participate, just check out which activity is coming up next, and follow the prompt... I hope you’ll join me as we stretch our minds in 2014. Because let’s be real, whether your daily routine calls for calculators or confetti, we all have room to try and make new things.
So, at first glance, it seems this does NOT mesh well with me. I am not crafty. Or very creative, sadly. I'm just not. I was made for the mundane life of just looking at Pinterest, not conquering the pins. It's not in my DNA.
But let's not dwell on that.
I checked out the prompt anyway. And it is Hunting for Photos. Sounds great to me! I can do that, yes I can! Si se puede! Sorry, sometimes my Mexican roots randomly appear (also, when I say chorizo and chili con carne).
So, I hunted some damn photos.
Or, more accurately, I went on a walk with my daughters and tried to capture every moment while simultaneously wearing a baby, holding hands with the older girls on each side of me, and talking about the weather and sunshine and stray cats and bird poop.
I am Mother, hear me roar, remember?
The end result to my hunt to capture sweet Sister moments was awesome. And again my heart is full because their love is so incredibly real. I pray with every fiber of my being that this love remains.
And I didn't snap a picture of my sweet Lucia since she was in the Ergo, but here she is when we got home. She's the best. And I can't wait to see the three of them be the best of friends.
In between tweeting, reading books to my daughters, and [not] burning mac n cheese, I am the Founder + Creative Director of Blessed is She women's ministry + community.
