Is anyone else out there totally and completely distracted once you open up your computer to "work"? I have about a bajillion tabs open and oop - there it is - a Facebook notification! or a new email! or a new mention on Twitter! Oy. Get yourself together, Jenna.
So, basically the ONLY way to get anything done at all is to go back to the original... the pen on paper. Yes, that will work this time! Oh wait, I have dishes to do and laundry to fold and oh! there's the baby... soooo many things to do. Ugh.
I'm pretty sure I'll only get some "work" done if I hole myself up in a really deserted coffee shop with a crapton of coffee to last me about six hours. Even going to Starbucks is crazy distracting - What drink are you waiting on, ma'am?!?! It's just a whole lotta yelling going on in there. Turn down that damn espresso machine! I'm trying to write a blog post!!
Is it just me??
I tried to take my headphones out this time. Didn't really work. I just "thumbs-up"ed everything I heard on Pandora. And then got distracted by who the artist was and just HAD to look up the lyrics to the oh-so-awesome song.
We used to play outside when we were young And full of life and full of love.
What is it is about myself - about our culture - about ourselves that we are not able to concentrate for more than five minutes on something? How are these distractions taking over our lives?
Hey! Let's be still, folks. Let's rest. Let's be full of life and full of love with our bodies, not just our words. Let's close all the tabs, close all the apps, calm all of the voices in our heads, listen to the silence. For just a minute.

Let's find ourselves again.
