SIDS Awareness Month - HALO SleepSack {Review}

Since October is SIDS Awareness Month, we thought it would be the perfect time to review and giveaway HALO SleepSacks. Not only does HALO do tremendous work for Safe Sleep practices, but they are my "go-to" when it comes to helping my daughter get into a routine for bedtime, making them perfect for this Travelin' With Baby Giveaway Hop!

HALO Innovation’s SleepSack® wearable blankets have become the standard for hospital nurseries and parents alike. In fact, 1,000 hospital nurseries use the HALO SleepSack Swaddle instead of blankets through the HALO Safer Way to Sleep Initiative. HALO Innovations also offers free Safe Sleep Practices kits to childbirth educators to help further the cause of SIDS prevention. Pretty awesome advocacy, I'd say :)

I received the brand new Micro-Fleece HALO SleepSack in their Cupcakes print.

{review of} Micro-Fleece HALO SleepSack in Cupcakes

20131005-202954.jpgThis baby was SOFT. I couldn't stop touching it! I washed it right after receiving it because I couldn't wait to use it that night for Lucia. I have loved using SleepSacks in the past, as I've used the Organic Cotton HALO SleepSacks, but this Micro-Fleece one was divine. I knew she'd be soft and cozy, and that made me so happy.

I got the SleepSack in a size small, which fits baby from birth to 6 months. I got it when Lucia was 4 weeks old, so I didn't see it on her when she was an itty bitty newborn, so I kind of think it might have looked pretty huge on her.

{loves}

  • cute prints
  • wicking material of micro-fleece (repels water, so the baby stays dry even if they leak out of the their diaper underneath the Sack)
  • super soft

{to consider}

  • big for a newborn - would greatly consider doing the SleepSack Swaddle for itty bitty babes

{overall}

I really loved the micro-fleece SleepSack. I've had the organic cotton SleepSack in the past, and I think I prefer the micro-fleece version. Its softness and comfy-ness were unmatched. I also like that even if Lucia had a diaper leak, I could just change her out of the onesie but be able to keep the SleepSack on since micro-fleece is a great wicking material.

I love when companies stand for something, and this company does just that. It's incredible the amount of work they do for Safe Sleep practices and for SIDS Awareness. It's definitely a company I want to support.

During the month of October, HALO will donate $1 to SIDS Awareness for every new Facebook "like."
